Are your loved ones prepared for the Long Term Care they may need?

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

On July 16, 2008, IN THE KNOW with Tony Reeves will interview Gregory Palmer, the President and Chief Executive Officer of GPI Financial Services, Inc., of Atlanta, Georgia.

LTC expenses can threaten or even wipe out retirement savings and jeopardize any assets you own. Every year Americans are impoverished by the need to pay for LTC, however, with proper planning you can avoid having this happen to you. The cost of LTC is rising and it is expensive! The average annual cost of a 1 year stay at a nursing home in 2006 was $62,415 and in some states the cost was even higher. Future care will be even more expensive, if costs rise just 3% a year in 20 years a 1 year stay in a nursing home will cost $112,728.

Gregory Palmer is CEO of GPI Financial Services and is a member of the Atlanta Association of Health Underwriters. He is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight and leadership for all facets of his insurance agency including: health, life, 401-k, dental, executive benefit plans and specializing in employee benefit strategies and human resources management.

“Long Term Care is a powerful and sometimes debilitating financial expense that few people properly prepare”, said Reeves. “Mr. Palmer is going to share some straightforward tips on how to take the necessary steps to ensure you can afford to pay for your loved ones proper care”
